Indacaterol Maleate, also known as maleate indacaterol in Chinese, is an orally effective ultra-long-acting beta-2 adrenergic receptor (ADRB2) agonist primarily used for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults.

Pharmacological Action

As a beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist, Indacaterol Maleate activates beta-2 receptors in the lungs, relaxing the bronchial smooth muscles, thereby dilating the bronchi and improving respiratory function. Additionally, it inhibits NF-κB activity in a beta-arrestin2-dependent manner, preventing further lung damage and improving lung function in COPD patients.
