Appearance: Yellow powder or pale yellow to yellow crystalline powder
Melting Point: 250~256°C (dec.)
Boiling Point: 257°C (under certain conditions)
Flash Point: 482°C
Solubility: Soluble in DMSO or DMF at concentrations of approximately 20 mg/ml; slightly soluble in aqueous buffers; practically insoluble in acetone; some sources indicate slight solubility in ethanol and chloroform
Stability: Stable under normal temperature and pressure; avoid contact with strong oxidants
Chemical Properties
Category: A topoisomerase I inhibitor and a camptothecin derivative
Mechanism of Action: Metabolized in vivo to the active metabolite SN-38, which binds to topoisomerase I, leading to DNA single-strand breaks and double-strand breaks, thereby inhibiting DNA replication and transcription and triggering apoptosis
