III. Chemical Properties
Cefodizime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. It is non-toxic to the kidneys and has good tolerability and immunomodulatory activity.
Cefodizime has a high affinity for penicillin-binding proteins lA/B, 2, and 3 in Escherichia coli and is a bactericidal antibiotic.
The in vitro bactericidal concentrations of Cefodizime against sensitive strains of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria are usually similar to the minimum inhibitory concentrations.
