Pharmacological Actions

Drug Type: Mirabegron is a β3-adrenergic receptor agonist.

Mechanism of Action: Mirabegron activates β3-adrenergic receptors in the bladder detrusor muscle. This leads to relaxation of the detrusor muscle during the storage phase of the bladder fill-void cycle, thereby increasing bladder capacity without impairing the voiding process.
