Basic Information
English Name: Fexofenadine Hydrochloride
CAS Number: 153439-40-8
Molecular Formula: C32H40ClNO4

Pharmacological Action
Fexofenadine Hydrochloride is a second-generation (or some sources classify it as third-generation) H1 receptor antagonist that selectively blocks H1 receptors, thereby exerting potent antihistaminic effects. It lacks anti-serotonin, anticholinergic, and anti-adrenergic effects, and does not cross the blood-brain barrier, resulting in no sedative effects or other central nervous system effects.
Indications
Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis: It is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children aged 6 years and older, including sneezing, runny nose, nasal/palatal/laryngeal itching, itchy/watery/red eyes.
Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria: It is indicated for the treatment of skin symptoms associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children aged 6 years and older, significantly reducing pruritus and the number of wheals.
