Ebastine is primarily used for the treatment of allergic diseases, including but not limited to allergic rhinitis in children, perennial rhinitis, seasonal rhinitis, hay fever, and chronic urticaria in adults.

Pharmacological Action

Ebastine exhibits a high degree of selectivity for the H1 receptor without central nervous system depression. Compared to terfenadine, ebastine possesses stronger and longer-lasting effects. It also has an antagonistic effect on leukotriene C4, inhibiting bronchoconstriction induced by leukotriene C4, exhibiting anticholinergic activity, and suppressing experimental wheezing and nasal allergies.
