Pharmacological Action
As a mast cell stabilizer, Pemirolast Potassium inhibits the release of histamine, leukotrienes, prostaglandin D2, thromboxane B2, and B-cell activating factors in a dose-dependent manner, triggered by antigen-antibody reactions.
It also potently inhibits the influx of extracellular Ca2+ and the release of intracellular Ca2+, as well as the release of arachidonic acid, significantly improving the symptoms of bronchial asthma.
Indications
Primarily used for the long-term treatment of bronchial asthma.
Additionally, it can be used for the prevention and treatment of allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis without significant adverse reactions.
