Pharmacological Action

Etoricoxib is a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). By inhibiting the activity of COX-2, it reduces the production of prostaglandins such as prostaglandin E2, thereby exerting analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Compared to traditional non-selective COX inhibitors, Etoricoxib exhibits higher selectivity for COX-2, which leads to reduced gastrointestinal and platelet function-related side effects.

• For the symptomatic relief of osteoarthritis (OA) in both the acute and chronic settings.

• For the treatment of acute gouty arthritis.
