IV. Uses
Milrinone is a medication used in the treatment of cardiac insufficiency. It enhances myocardial contractility and directly dilates blood vessels.
As a PDE3 inhibitor, it inhibits the degradation of cAMP, thereby increasing myocardial contractility.
It is primarily used in the treatment of severe heart failure conditions such as chronic heart failure and congestive heart failure.
