Chemical Name: (1S)-1,5-Anhydro-1-(4-chloro-3-{4-[(3S)-tetrahydrofuran-3-yloxy]benzyl}phenyl)-D-glucitol
Cas Number: 864070-44-0
Molecular Formula: C23H27ClO7
Indications
Enpagliflozin is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It can be used alone, in combination with diet control and exercise, to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes. Additionally, when metformin hydrochloride or metformin hydrochloride combined with sulfonylureas fail to adequately control blood glucose, enpagliflozin can be used in conjunction with these medications to further improve glycemic control.
Mechanism of Action
Enpagliflozin is a highly selective inhibitor of SGLT2 (sodium-glucose cotransporter 2). It works by reducing renal tubular reabsorption of glucose, promoting excretion of glucose from the blood into the urine, and thereby achieving glycemic control.
