Pharmacological Action

Travoprost is a selective FP prostaglandin receptor agonist that works by increasing uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humor, thereby lowering intraocular pressure (IOP). This mechanism helps protect the optic nerve from damage caused by elevated IOP.

Indications

Travoprost is indicated for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension in patients who have failed to respond adequately to or cannot tolerate other IOP-lowering medications. It can be used as a first-line therapy to delay disease progression and preserve vision.
