Dexamethasone Palmitate is a potent anti-inflammatory drug primarily used for the treatment of chronic rheumatic arthritis and other inflammatory diseases.
I. Basic Information
English Name: Dexamethasone Palmitate
CAS Number: 14899-36-6
Molecular Formula: C38H59FO6
Molecular Weight: 630.87
II. Pharmacological Effects
Dexamethasone Palmitate is a prodrug that gradually hydrolyzes in the body into its biologically active metabolite, dexamethasone. Therefore, its pharmacological properties are similar to those of dexamethasone, exhibiting potent anti-inflammatory effects. However, due to its unique lipid microdroplet formulation, Dexamethasone Palmitate may exhibit more prolonged and intense anti-inflammatory effects than traditional water-soluble dexamethasone in certain situations. Specifically, in rat models of chronic inflammation such as adjuvant arthritis and carrageenan granuloma, the anti-inflammatory effects of Dexamethasone Palmitate are 2 to 5 times more persistent and intense than those of water-soluble dexamethasone.
III. Indications
Indications: Primarily used for the treatment of chronic rheumatic arthritis and also suitable for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.
