Pharmacological Properties
Antibiotic Type: Clindamycin phosphate is a semisynthetic derivative of clindamycin and a broad-spectrum lincomycin antibiotic.
Mechanism of Action: It is inactive in vitro but rapidly hydrolyzes to clindamycin in vivo, exhibiting pharmacological activity. It has the same antibacterial spectrum, antibacterial activity, and therapeutic effect as clindamycin.
Antibacterial Spectrum: It is mainly effective against Gram-positive cocci and anaerobes, including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus (excluding Streptococcus pneumoniae), Streptococcus pyogenes, Micrococcus species, and anaerobes such as Clostridium species, Bacteroides species, Fusobacterium species, Propionibacterium species, Eubacterium species, and Anaerococcus species.
