Pharmacological Actions

Mechanism of Action:

• 5-HT3 Receptor Antagonist: Ondansetron works by selectively blocking serotonin 5-HT3 receptors, which are found in the  terminals of the vagus nerve and in the chemoreceptor trigger zone of the  brain. This inhibition decreases the sensation of nausea and the tendency  to vomit.
