Chemical Properties
Calcium Dobesilate is a vasoactive agent that selectively acts on the capillary walls. It regulates and improves the permeability and fragility of capillary walls.
Pharmacological Action
Microvascular Protection: Inhibits high permeability caused by vasoactive substances (such as histamine, serotonin) on microvessels, reduces vascular endothelial injury, improves basement membrane collagen biosynthesis, and thereby improves capillary wall permeability.
Hemorheological Improvement: Enhances red blood cell flexibility, reduces blood viscosity, improves lymphatic return, and thereby decreases pathological hyperpermeability of microvascular walls.
Antithrombotic Effect: Decreases fibrinogen and globulin levels, activates fibrinolytic activity, increases blood fibrinolytic capacity, reduces the synthesis and release of platelet aggregation factors, inhibits platelet aggregation, and prevents thrombosis.
Microcirculation Improvement: Increases the caliber of arterioles and venules, increases the number of open capillaries, significantly accelerates blood flow, improves microcirculation, and eliminates or alleviates symptoms such as edema and capillary hemorrhage.
Clinical Applications
Calcium Dobesilate is used to treat various capillary disorders caused by multiple factors, including diabetic retinopathy, varicose veins, phlebitis, leg cramps, itchy dermatitis, among others. Its brand names include Daoshengming, Dobesilate, Andoming, Haochang, etc.
