Appearance: Usually pale yellow crystalline powder or pale yellow crystals
Solubility: Exhibits varying solubility in different solvents. Highly soluble in water with sonication assistance. Also soluble in DMSO, though solubility may be affected by DMSO's hygroscopicity.
Physical Properties
Boiling Point: 570.2ºC at 760 mmHg
Flash Point: 298.7ºC
Vapor Pressure: 2.23E-15 mmHg at 25°C
Pharmacological Properties
Antibacterial Spectrum: Faropenem Sodium exhibits a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity against aerobic Gram-positive bacteria, aerobic Gram-negative bacteria, and anaerobes. It demonstrates strong bactericidal activity against staphylococci, streptococci, pneumococci, enterococci, as well as citrobacter, enterobacter, haemophilus influenzae, and anaerobes such as peptostreptococcus and bacteroides.
Mechanism of Action: It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by strongly binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), thereby exerting its bactericidal effect.
