Aceclofenac

Aceclofenac

Aceclofenac, also known as Aceclofenacum or Aceclofenac sodium, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that exhibits anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and analgesic properties.

Basic Information

  • English Name: Aceclofenac

  • CAS Number: 89796-99-6

  • Molecular Formula: C16H13Cl2NO4

  • Molecular Weight: 354.18

Pharmacological Action

As an NSAID, Aceclofenac primarily works by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX), reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins, and thereby exerting its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects. Structurally, it is similar to diclofenac, alclofenac, and fenclofenac, but it may offer a broader range of anti-inflammatory effects and stronger analgesic potency.

Indications

Aceclofenac is primarily used to treat pain and inflammation symptoms associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Additionally, it can help alleviate pain and inflammation from chronic polyarthritis, postoperative pain, traumatic pain, neck and shoulder pain, low back pain, headache, migraine, sprains, strains, muscular pain, dental pain, and dysmenorrhea.
