Pharmacological Action

Avanafil belongs to the class of PDE5 (phosphodiesterase type 5) inhibitors. It inhibits the activity of PDE5, thereby increasing the levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which leads to increased blood flow to the penile arteries, allowing the cavernous sinuses to fill with blood, expand, and facilitate penile erection with enhanced rigidity and duration.
