Indications and Uses
Termination of Early Pregnancy: Mifepristone tablets, when sequentially combined with prostaglandin medications, can be used to terminate pregnancies within 49 days of the last menstrual period. This involves either a single dose of 200mg or a regimen of 25mg twice daily for three days, followed by a prostaglandin medication to complete the abortion process.
Control of Hyperglycemia: Mifepristone (under the trade name Korlym) has been approved by the FDA for controlling hyperglycemia in adult patients with endogenous Cushing's syndrome, particularly those with type 2 diabetes or glucose intolerance who are not suitable for surgery or have not responded to surgery.
