Generic Name: Epinastine Hydrochloride
CAS Number: 108929-04-0
Molecular Formula: C16H16ClN3

Pharmacological Action
Epinastine Hydrochloride is a potent, selective, and orally active histamine H1 receptor antagonist.
It inhibits the actions of histamine, leukotriene C4, PAF, and serotonin, as well as suppressing the release of histamine and slow-reacting substance of anaphylaxis (SRS-A).
Due to its chemical structure, it has difficulty crossing the blood-brain barrier, resulting in weaker antagonism of central nervous system H1 receptors.
Indications
Epinastine Hydrochloride is indicated for the prevention and treatment of allergic rhinitis, urticaria, eczema, dermatitis, pruritus, prurigo, psoriasis vulgaris with pruritus, and allergic bronchial asthma in adults.
